House Music Circles: June

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I’m obsessed with the idea of bringing together what some might consider the many disparate camps of house music - its colorful sub genres have helped spread the four four beat across the globe and fostered experimentation that might not have otherwise happened without specialization.

Sometimes though we get caught up as fans, creators or DJs with over emphasizing the prefix of our favorite hyphenated sub genre - and I think this kind of separatist behavior harms the music as a whole.

I’ve been told plenty of times by promoters or other DJs how ‘crazy’ I am for playing so many different styles in just one set. Coming up in Chicago, that’s exactly what the definition of a good DJ was - someone who could weave a unique tapestry out of deep house, vocal house, techno, minimal, ghetto, disco or whatever else they made their own through the art of mixing.

To this end I’d like to use this month’s column to mention tracks and labels that aren’t afraid of mixing and matching styles.

The War Began, Links And Posts Are Deleted Arbitrarily by Mike RKM

Monday, June 29th, 2009

ok guys in the last two months Many things have changed in this blog, for three years everything has remained the same, but lately my time became very low, if we add the death of my old computer, I had to reduce the reviews of the new tunes but to keep warm this site I have restricted nearly all my new post just to playlist with the link to download the related news that I present in my radio shows This has caused a big increase in visits and a great support but also caused big trouble you are all happy but many are angry many producers have written me and others have struck me, and as I was expecting the war began, links and posts are deleted arbitrarily. Always my work is only for promotional purposes many artists and producers who know me are grateful to me for my support many of them have had a popularity that had never been first. to all those who are angry with me I assure them that from now I don’t talk about themselves and their productions links exist on other sites or server and therefore will not solve their problem is really stupid to prefer to be ignored I prefer to be the same report a good product because everyone knows. After ten years they have not understood that digital media should be used only to promote the product quality of the mp3 is a real shit and the real product is what is published on vynil or on cd original only this can have a real value and that should only sold to the public. My opinion that it is right to hit the counterfeiters while it is really a bullshit and blame those who make information even if you use that shit mp3 from the value of a few cents if the producers think that they are fundamental then it means that they are really poor tramps and as such should be considered. Write me and tell me what you think, from me in the future may change something in my post I would not ever be closed this area the only Italian who has some credibility and professionalism if stop my voice the house music still survives.
