When Bad People Cook Good Food – Various

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Mazi Namvar, label head of Fresh Meat and pioneer of the new school Chicago house sound, suggested in a recent interview that the city’s bubbling talent was alive and well, percolating to the surface from the underground.

On a mission to further the cause, Fresh Meat has released a monster of an LP comprised of a Grade A cut of what’s been happening on the imprint lately.

‘When Bad People Cook Good Food’ is a compilation covering the first three years of the Chicago label, with a whole roster of top notch talent showing up to take a bow.

Call Me (Incl. Central Avenue Mix)Seamless Recordings brings you an absolute monster from rising star and Seamless favourite Greg Stainer. After a string of highly successful remixes for Seamless, we bring you his first single release on Seamless Twelve’s.

Seamless Recordings brings you an absolute monster from rising star and Seamless favourite Greg Stainer. After a string of highly successful remixes for Seamless, we bring you his first single release on Seamless Twelve’s. He teams up with UK singer/songwriter Leon King, who provides so excellent uplifting vocal with a great hook that will have all the ladies on the floor. Greg creates superb original piano mix, starting off with a great build up then dropping into a killer big room groove, before dropping in to a ‘hands in the air’ break that has anthem write all over it. The second mix, Greg has done in an electro style. With solid, chunky beats, this has a hint of commercial electro style to it. This again is another popular mix, for those whole like their music a bit more electro powered.

Once again with the Seamless dedication to high quality remixes; this release comes with a very powerful collection of remix artists.

First up we have Gabriel & Castellon. Since their last remix for Seamless, “Jazzloungerz & Headtrip ft Lu Chase – Loveblind” they productions have continued to excel including superb remixes for Prok & Fitch, Kid Massive and Celeda. They have taken the track into new territory. They keep it bumpy and chunky, with their slightly electronic style of house. This is a perfect main room track. And will for sure feature on many playlists this spring. This also comes complete with a dub version, keeping it on a more tracky tip and stripping back the vocal.

Second, we bring in Central Avenue. After his last remix for Seamless “Physics ft Teresa Pozgaj – I´m Here” was picked up on by Roger Sanchez with repeated plays on his Release Yourself show, Andy Lee decided to take his style for the remix on a housey bigger room style. The result is awesome. With a fresh sounding mix, this take the track on a David Penn style . This is a must for pure house fans. This also comes with an instrumental version for those who prefer no vocals. Don’t miss either mix, they’re bombs waiting to happen.

Thirdly we have Rohann Nunez & Arnold, from UAE. They create a mix for peak time house floors. With solid house beats and great analogue synth sounds, this is a catchy mix and will invoke memories of the early nineties when you hit the breakdown. This will certainly be popular with house fans and comes complete with a dub.

And finally we have New Zealand’s´ Jolyon Petch. He completes the package with an uplifting mix. With added funky guitar licks and uplifting background synths, this is a mix for lovers of Hed Kandi.

Miles Dyson – Intro (Original Mix)

Miles Dyson
“Intro”
(Original Mix)
Simply a bomb! A great record for opening, closing or even for waking up the floor half way through a set, some electro house with “Also Sprach Zarathustra” together and you end up with this beautiful tune from one of my favourite producer. … even the biggest snobs out there won’t be able to snob this tune, even if they did, they are really missing out on something just like their public would be also. A real battle horse that shouldn’t be missing from any record case.
