The venerable DJ, producer and Ovum label boss Josh Wink shows how it’s done on this week’s Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Never one to shy away from stylistic border crossings, this is the man who’s been paving the way between the underground and the mainstream for over fifteen years, breaking boundaries with now legendary releases that include ‘Don’t Laugh’ and ‘Higher State of Consciousness’.
Here on his Essential Mix Mr. Winkelman (did you know that’s his real name?) whips up a selection of crowd pleasing tracks that are collectively further testament to his prowess behind the decks: Kerri Chandler, Guillame & the Coutu Dumonts, Thom Yorke as well as Shed and Martyn have found their way onto the tracklist in a mix that runs from house to dubstep and plenty in between to demonstrate just how versatile this veteran jock is.

“Forget it”
(Robbie Rivera Juicy Mix)
a very chunky/electro/modern techy type tune. Not too much of this or that, it’s just what the Doctor ordered as it keeps you interested from start to finish. This production, already hot in this moment, will probably become a future hit. Of the six versions that Juicy mix seems to be the most effective one a sound that will devastate floors all over the globe. Solid! I would also like to recommend that you don’t miss out the others remixes from them : 01. forget it (original mix) 02. forget it (robbie rivera juicy mix) 03. forget it (santiago cortes mix) 04. forget it (tony arzadon mix) 05. forget it (rooster and peralta tribal festival mix) 06. forget it (j opio mix)

Dave Kurtis
“Last Night In Miami 2009″
(Original Mix)
I already spoke about the original but now this is flying up so much… Dave Kurtis who proposes a catchy remake track that is spiced up by a killer electro latin line, the the sample of “Conga” by Miami Sound Machine is strongly and amalgamated with the voice creating a definite devastating effect for the next magical night of 2009…. from a bygone era with a 21st century make-over. Love it!!
